The City of Sammamish is seeking applicants to fill two positions on the Sammamish Planning Commission. The terms end 1/31/2028. Interested residents must apply by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2024. Note that applications received after this date and time will not be accepted.

General Information
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: The Planning Commission has the primary responsibility for making recommendations to the City Council on the City's comprehensive plan and related regulations and programs. These documents include City policy statements on annexation, growth, transportation, economic development, parks and open space, and the natural environment. The Commission reviews all proposed amendments to the comprehensive plan and periodically reviews special studies completed to keep the plan current.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES: Attend conferences and/or training sessions to keep abreast of current trends in municipal planning and/or to better undertake their role as Planning Commissioners.
Regular meetings are held on the first and third Thursday of each month at 6:30 pm. Special meetings may be scheduled as needed.
This is an unpaid volunteer position; however, the personal rewards for serving on the Planning Commission can be fulfilling!
