Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us! Our current volunteer opportunities are listed below. Training is provided and volunteers that deliver meals can receive mileage reimbursement. If you see a position you are interested in, and are available long term, please contact us at mealsonwheels@soundgenerations.org or call 206.448.5767.
Our other needs right now include monetary donations and in-kind donations of new grocery size paper bags (handles preferred). Donations can be sent to Sound Generations Meals on Wheels, 2208 2nd Ave, Seattle, WA 98121. Thank you again for your interest in supporting the work we do!
Current Meals on Wheels Volunteer Opportunities
Burien
Driver: A volunteer is needed to deliver meals in Burien on Wednesday mornings, as needed. Drivers pick up meals between 10:30 am – 11 am, and are typically done with their route in 1-1.5 hours.
Kirkland
Caller: Help alleviate social isolation for seniors in your community. Make friendly phone calls to collect meal orders for participants. This opportunity is on Thursdays, 9:30 am – 11:30 am, as needed.
Renton
Site Coordinator: Help make a difference for seniors in your community by coordinating our Renton Meals on Wheels site! In this position, your main responsibilities are to coordinate our dedicated volunteers for the delivery of meals as well as completing various office tasks that keep Meals on Wheels humming along on schedule. In a pinch, the Coordinator can fill in for any member of the Meals on Wheels team, including delivering meals to clients. This volunteer role involves a weekly commitment of 5 to 6 hours, with the ability to be on-site on Wednesdays from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM. We are looking for volunteers who have long term availability.
Tukwila
Driver: A Volunteer is needed to deliver meals in Tukwila on Thursday mornings. Delivery drivers pick up meals around 9 am and are typically done with their route in 1-2 hours.
