TYPES OF TASKS INVOLVED IN ADOPTING A PARK OR TRAIL

We ask that volunteers visit the site generally once per month, depending on the season and the work to be arranged. While the nature of the work differs based on the park or trail to be adopted, tasks generally include:

Clearing of brush from trail edges
Notifying the Parks Department of hazards that need to be addressed
Picking up litter and minor debris (such as branches and sticks)
Raking and sweeping
Weeding planting beds

Additional tasks, at your discretion, could include planting flowers and pruning, subject to approval by the Parks Department, and removal of non-native invasive species.

MINIMUM COMMITMENT

We ask that volunteers commit to a minimum of one year of service and minimum of four maintenance activities per year at your adopted park or trail. But, we hope you will consider making this a long-term commitment for many years to come.
