The Bellevue Schools Foundation is a non-profit organization committed to enhancing educational opportunities for students in the Bellevue School District. Through fundraising, partnerships, and community engagement, BSF provides resources that support academic programs, equity initiatives, and student well-being. As a vital part of the Bellevue community, the Foundation empowers educators, inspires students, and collaborates with parents and local businesses to build a brighter future for all students.
The Bellevue Schools Foundation Ambassador will serve as an advocate, champion, and connector for BSF within the Bellevue community. This volunteer role is designed for individuals passionate about education and community engagement, who can build relationships, spread awareness of BSF’s mission, and help drive the Foundation’s efforts to raise funds and increase visibility in the local community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote BSF’s Mission: Act as an ambassador for the Bellevue Schools Foundation, spreading awareness about its programs, initiatives, and impact on Bellevue schools.
- Community Engagement: Foster positive relationships with parents, local businesses, civic organizations, and community members to encourage support for BSF.
- Fundraising Support: Help raise awareness and support for BSF’s fundraising campaigns, including annual giving programs, special events, and sponsorship opportunities.
- Event Participation: Attend and support BSF events (both in-person and virtual), providing a welcoming presence and sharing information about the Foundation’s work.
- Advocacy and Outreach: Represent BSF at school board meetings, local gatherings, and community events to advocate for the Foundation’s mission and initiatives.
- Partnership Development: Identify and nurture potential partnerships with local businesses, philanthropists, and organizations that align with BSF’s goals.
- Social Media and Communication Support: Assist in promoting BSF events, initiatives, and success stories via personal social media channels and word-of-mouth outreach.
- Feedback and Reporting: Provide regular updates to the BSF team about community engagement activities, opportunities, and potential challenges.
Qualifications:
- Strong passion for education and the Bellevue School District.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and engage diverse groups.
- Proactive, enthusiastic, and a self-starter who can work independently as well as part of a team.
- Experience in community outreach, marketing, or event coordination is a plus.
- Familiarity with Bellevue and its educational landscape is helpful but not required.
- Comfort with using social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.) for community outreach.
- Ability to commit to a flexible schedule (5-10 hours/month) to support various BSF events and initiatives.
